Dear MEM team Greetings Good to see the absorption chillers on marine vessels. I was very much in study of these systems using waste heat from Marine diesels. It was noted that Absorption chiller is instable during rolling and pitching. It is…

Dear Martin Greetings this wondeful concept of WASTE heat utilization at higher and even lower temperatures is not inspiring the ship owners due to high cost of installations. I wish the complete engine room can be air conditioned with the main…

How would you describe your role?
Engineer, Manager
If you have time, tell us a bit more about you and why you decided to join this network
Greetings
I am a Mechanical and marine engineer. I served onboard ship for 20 years and ashore another 10 years.
More interested in Thermal engineering, preferably renewable energies, climate control systems.

I am more involved in studies of absorption and adsorption chiller systems to bring onboard ships with some japanese absorption chiller makers.
As Mr wright righly said, sea water pumps can be minimized to greater extent and the engine heat can be utilized to create air conditioning to complete vessel, engine rooms to improve the life of personnel and machinery.

I would like to contribute to minimize CFC use onboard ships, waste heat utilization, reduce the fuel consumption etc.,
kind regards
