Wärtsilä - Energy efficiency catalogue

Wärtsilä intends to use the SMM event to unveil a number of new technologies, grouped into an Energy efficiency catalogue, with the target to collect a number of opportunities to reduce energy usage in ships.

Fuel consumption is becoming a critical issue as the price of energy is increasing and the need to cut emissions is evident. On this site Wärtsilä has selected 50 examples of actions and measures how to reduce energy consumption in ship applications. The aim is to cut operating costs while, at the same time, reduce emissions.

Considerable research and development investments have placed Wärtsilä in the vanguard of companies offering innovative technologies to boost energy efficiency and environmentally sound operation at sea.

Oh, just wanted to add the Wärtsilä initiative to the forum, but its already there..
It is a very comprehensive catalogue! Its worth looking through the presentation (at the bottom of the page).
